Financial Aid Priority Deadline

Students are strongly encouraged to submit their FAFSA by the Financial Aid Priority Deadline. The Financial Aid Priority Deadlines for 2013-2014 are as follows:

Deadline to Submit 2013-2014 FAFSA Deadline to Submit Required Documents
Fall 2013 June 6, 2013 June 27, 2013
Winter 2014 November 1, 2013 November 22, 2013
Spring/Summer 2014 March 14, 2014 April 4, 2014

In order to meet the Financial Aid Priority Deadline, a student must:

  • Submit the 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the deadline listed above for the semester for which the student is applying.
  • Submit any required documentation required to complete the student’s financial aid file by the document deadline listed above for the semester for which the student is applying.

Students for whom we have received a 2013-2014 FAFSA, AND all requested documentation by the above stated deadlines will have their file reviewed before the start of the semester or will have their classes protected from de-registration. Students that do not meet the Financial Aid Priority Deadline are still able to apply for financial aid. However, they will be responsible for setting up an EZ Pay Installment Plan or paying for their classes in full, by the payment deadline, while they wait for their financial aid award to be processed.

Once a student submits their 2013-2014 FAFSA, they do not need to submit another FAFSA for that academic year. Students who have submitted their FAFSA and required documents by the above date as well as those that have received their financial aid award letter are considered to have met Financial Aid Priority Deadline.

Please note, it generally takes 3-5 days from the time a student submits their FAFSA for our office to receive it into our system. Be sure to plan ahead as we must have received your 2013-2014 FAFSA and all required documentation by the Financial Aid Priority Deadline in order to protect you from the de-registration process. The website to submit your FAFSA is www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and the HFCC school code is 002270.
