The HFC Music department will host the Metropolitan Symphony Band Spring Concert, “New Beginnings and Final Frontiers,” on Monday, April 29, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Adray Auditorium (Room F-100) in the MacKenzie Fine Arts Center (Building F on the main campus). This event is free and open to the public.

The Metropolitan Symphony Band will perform under the leadership of HFC Director of Music HFC Director of Music Anthony Lai. This was Lai’s first year in this position.

"The Metropolitan Symphony Band has been hard at work to bring a variety of styles to this year's concert,” said Lai. “We also continue an emphasis on new music.”

The music to be performed will be very eclectic, said Lai. There will be music from Star Trek, Celtic songs, Scottish songs, a Ukrainian dance, and something Lai described as a “dissonant contemporary piece.”

“I encourage everyone to come to the College and see us perform. You will be in for a treat,” said Lai.
