After defeating Macomb Community College 13-6 on May 7, the HFC Baseball Team has clinched a berth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XII Tournament, starting Thursday, May 12, against Lansing Community College.

The Hawks will face off against LCC in a 3-game series at Kircher Municipal Park, 301 Clippert St. in Lansing. The first two games on May 12 will be at 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.. The third game – if needed – will be on Friday, May 13, at 1:00 p.m.

“I’m very proud of my team for making it this far. All their hard work, sacrifices, and dedication have paid off,” said Coach Mike Abney, who is in his fourth season as head coach for the Hawks.

Cheer the Hawks to victory

“We’re excited that the guys are back in the regional tournament. The last time we made it was several years ago. Kyle Roberts was a member of the team. Today, he’s the pitching coach,” said HFC Asst. Athletic Director for Compliance Steven Brown and former coach of the baseball team.

“I encourage everyone to come out and cheer on the Hawks and show their school spirit,” said Abney. “The weather is supposed to be nice and sunny. It’ll be a great day for baseball.”
