HFC’s acclaimed student-run restaurant Fifty-One O One has reopened for the Winter 2026 semester with a fantastic menu and a great ambience. Operated by HFC Culinary Arts students, under the close mentorship of experienced faculty chefs, the restaurant provides a real-world dining experience that blends education, creativity, and community engagement with delicious food.

Located in the John McDonald Student and Culinary Arts Center (Building M on the main campus), the restaurant’s hours of operation for Winter 2026 are:

  • Tuesday: 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (lunch)
  • Wednesday: 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (lunch) and 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. (dinner)
  • Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (lunch)

Fifty-One O One features a seasonally inspired menu that reflects classical technique, global influence, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients.

New for Winter 2026: Online ordering and reservations

This semester, the restaurant is introducing a new online point-of-sale system called Toast to make your dining experience smoother and more convenient. With this new system, you can make it easier than ever to plan a visit to Fifty-One O One.

Winter 2026 menu highlights

Menu highlights include composed salads such as the Winter Fruit and Endive Salad with poached pear and buttermilk mousse, and the classic Salad Lyonnaise with duck confit and sherry vinaigrette. Guest favorites return alongside new offerings, including the 5101 Dream Burger with house-cut fries, and the Tapioca Crusted Cod Sandwich on brioche with mango slaw and gochujang aioli.

Entrées showcase elevated comfort and refined technique, including Short Rib Pot au Feu, Pan-Seared Walleye, and Potato and Truffle Agnolotti, while Neapolitan pizzas range from the classic Emilia to seasonal white pies featuring mushrooms, truffle, or ’nduja. Desserts such as Blood Orange Panna Cotta, Nocturne, and Raspberry Variations complete the dining experience.

Beer and wine are also available for purchase by customers age 21 and older with a valid photo ID. The full menu is available at the Fifty-One O One website.

"Sweeten Your February" promotion

The popular "Sweeten Your February" promotion returns this year. Throughout February, guests who purchase any two desserts will receive a complimentary box of chocolates (while supplies last).

Upcoming special events

Fifty-One O One will also host several special events and buffets throughout the Winter 2026 semester, including:

  • Wednesday, February 18: Shrimp & Soul Buffet
  • Wednesday, March 18: St. Patrick’s Day Buffet
  • Wednesday, April 1, to Thursday, April 2: Spring Bake Sale
  • Saturday, April 18: Scholarship Dinner

Parking is free. We encourage guests to park in the Campus Safety parking lot just north of Building N on the main campus, which is immediately behind the bus stop on Evergreen Road. Please inform the parking attendant that you’re visiting the restaurant, and they will grant you access to the designated parking area.
