EVENT REGISTRATION closes Saturday, March 9.

Titled, “Exploring the Future of Automotive Technology,” this year's breakfast will showcase the latest advancements in automotive technology for our community partners. The event will provide a unique opportunity for educators to explore cutting-edge developments in the auto industry, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Keynote speaker Colby Irvin

Colby Irvin of Ford Motor Company in Dearborn will give the keynote address, providing insights into the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in automotive technology. Irvin has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive service industry.

Student volunteers in HFC’s Automotive Technology and ASSET programs will showcase their innovations. They will provide a firsthand look at the state-of-the-art technologies that are shaping the future of the automotive industry.

ASSET program and automotive technology program

Founded in 1986, HFC’s ASSET program is one of the first such programs in the country, and the only one in Michigan. ASSET is a two-year college program, in a cohort format with on-the-job training integrated into the learning. It leads to an associate degree in Automotive Service Technology. It is a joint effort between HFC, Ford Motor Company, and area Ford and Lincoln dealerships.

ASSET allows technical and vocational students to receive on-the-job training at a sponsoring Ford or Lincoln dealership while earning an associate degree. After completing the program, the graduate is guaranteed a job in the dealership they have worked for as a student. Options include training for Master Certified Technician and other certifications.

Students who want a more traditional college program should apply for the Automotive Technology program. This is more self-paced (non-cohort) and can lead to employment with any company in a variety of automotive-related fields.

Networking opportunities at the breakfast

This breakfast is for high school counselors and other partners who work with college-bound students to help them make the best decisions about their future. From certifications to advanced degrees, this is a chance to learn about opportunities to prepare students for a future in automotive technology.

At this event, you will have the chance to network with industry professionals, fellow educators, and students, fostering collaboration and the exchange of ideas. There will be opportunities for community partners to explore potential collaborations, partnerships, and educational opportunities with industry leaders and experts.

We encourages all community partners to share this exciting opportunity with your colleagues. Everyone who attends will have a chance to gain valuable insights into the rapidly evolving field of automotive technology and ASSET.
