Fifty-One O One Restaurant unveils new Early Spring Menu

From now until the end of the Winter 2023 semester, Fifty-One O One, HFC’s student-run restaurant, will offer its new Early Spring Menu.

The restaurant’s hours for the Winter 2023 semester are:

  • Tuesdays: 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (lunch)
  • Wednesdays: 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (lunch) and 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. (dinner)
  • Thursdays: 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (lunch)

5101 Early Spring Menu

Fresh salads include:

  • Michigan Baby Greens Salad: Lemon cream, spring onion, radishes, croutons
  • Warm Spinach Salad: Spinach, wheat berries, bulgur, baby kale, ricotta salata, nasturtium
  • Grilled Radish Salad: Lemon, sunflower, tonnato, mint
  • Strawberry and Snap Pea Salad: Snap peas, ricotta, pistachios, red onion, champagne vinaigrette

Fresh vegetables include:

  • Blistered Shishito Peppers: Meyer lemon, brown butter sabayon, parmesan crisp
  • Glazed Baby Carrots: Snap peas, Vadouvan granola, citrus-espuma
  • Roasted Broccoli: Parmesan, lemon, lardo
  • First of Season Asparagus: Asparagus, Parmigiano-Reggiano, quinoa, poached egg
  • Fried Fingerling Potatoes: Crushed fingerling potatoes, mint, pine nuts, black olive caramel
  • Braised English Peas: Prosciutto, shallot, Little Gem romaine lettuce, seeded bread, whipped ricotta
  • Mushroom Tartlette: Portabella-hazelnut tartlette, baby turnip-knob onion ragóut, sauteed king trumpets, roasted shallot puree, herbs

The Neapolitan style pizzas include:

  • The Emilia Classic: Mozzarella, classic tomato sauce
  • The Peppy: Mozzarella, pepperoni, classic tomato sauce
  • 5101 Sausage: Homemade Italian sausage, roasted peppers, roasted onions, classic tomato sauce
  • Mushroom Ragu: Roasted mushrooms, arugula, truffle
  • Farm Egg: House-blend mozzarella, pancetta, potato, sunny side up egg, ricotta
  • Asparagus and Speck: House-blend mozzarella, roasted asparagus, ricotta, speck

Entrees include:

  • Duck Confit: White port-poached plums, Castelvetrano olive, parsnip, sherry lacquer
  • Wood-Grilled Eye of the Ribeye Steak: Mushrooms, potatoes, beet salad, Bordelaise sauce
  • Lamb Ribs: Korean BBQ, sesame, picked vegetables
  • Braised Oxtail Ravioli: Celery root, black garlic, spinach, oxtail jus
  • Gnocchi Ricotta: Ricotta dumplings, roasted mushrooms
  • Pancetta Wrapped Walleye: Raised shank, caramelized apples, lentils

Entrees include either a vegetable, salad, or soup before or with the meal. Sandwiches and vegetables include a cup of soup. The menu also includes appetizers, specialty salads and sandwiches (including the famous 5101 Burger), soups, and desserts.

Prices are reasonable. Beer and wine are available to purchase for patrons age 21 and older.

Parking is free. When you arrive, please park in the Campus Safety lot or adjacent faculty lots. Customers should notify Campus Safety dispatch that they are dining at Fifty-One O One.
