The HFC Henry Ford II Honors program will host its Fall 2022 Honors Symposium on Friday, Dec. 9, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in its new Honors Hub, in Rm. K-103 of the Walter Reuther Liberal Arts Building (Bldg. K) on the main campus.

This semester’s symposium will feature more than a dozen honors students presenting on topics ranging from an analysis of public relations in modern society to a study on mouth bacteria, according to Honors Program Director Dr. Adam R. Hazlett.

“There are very few topics that won’t be represented,” said Hazlett. “The Honors Program teaches every corner of the College and every school within it. It really is fixing to be quite a day.”

Labors of academic love

Students will present their academic research to faculty, peers, and community members. The Honors program accommodates a wide series of formats from poster presentations to the traditional academic paper. One of the most significant components of the Honors Program is students working one-on-one with a professor of their choosing in a field of their choosing.

“It is amazing to watch learning truly happen in this setting,” said Hazlett. “Watching students present their labors of academic love is rejuvenating for those of us who love learning and love seeking knowledge.”

The presentations and research will be presented throughout the first floor of the Liberal Arts Building. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public. For questions or more information, contact Hazlett at ahazlett@hfcc.edu.
