A s a follow-up to last year's PIC conference on Social Justice and Equity in Education, the PIC committee will host a conference for all HFC employees on January 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Your hosts are Tessa Betts and Tazeen Ayub.

The conference, titled “Inclusive and Equitable Teaching at HFC,” features three workshops and a keynote speaker.

The three workshops are:

  1. Dr. Bryan Dewsbury: Unpacking Equity 101
  2. Dr. Diane Goodman: Microaggressions and unconscious bias on campus
  3. Dr. Jamiella Brooks: Decolonizing the classroom

You will be assigned to a workshop based on space available. If you wish to specify a preference, please fill out this Google form. We will accommodate preferences to the extent possible.

The conference will conclude with a keynote from HFC alumnus Byron Brooks. (Mr. Brooks is not related to Dr. Jamiella Brooks).
