Rivera-Garcia takes 8th place nationally; named All-American

The 2019-2020 season has been a banner year for the Hawks' wrestling team, and for individual wrestlers.
Season highlights:
The team was nationally ranked at #13 at one point during the season.
Donte Rivera-Garcia, freshman from Allen Park, 125, was ranked #1 nationally during the season.
Rivera-Garcia put together an impressive string of wins during the season.
The team won the MCCAA state championship in January.
HFC wrestling coach Grant MacKenzie was named MCCAA Coach of the Year.
Four Hawks qualified for the national championship, the NJCAA tournament, in March: Donte Rivera-Garcia, Scott Torres, Elijah Kidder, and Dean Elder.
To cap the season, Donte Rivera-Garcia finished 8th in the nation at the NJCAA tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa on March 7 and was the first Hawk wrestler to be named an All American in his freshman year.
