Register for Classes

Students can register for classes at HFC using WebAdvisor or Student Planning. If you do not have Internet access, you can register at a kiosk computer in the Welcome Center (Building WC on the main campus). See the Office of Registration and Records for specific information on enrolling in classes. For questions regarding program selection, course selection, or WebAdvisor, please consult an academic adviser or counselor.

Henry Ford College uses Priority Registration each semester. See Priority Registration for more information.

How to Register using WebAdvisor

  1. Log in to WebAdvisor.
Students can register for classes online using WebAdvisor. Click on Student > Log In, enter your HFC username and password, and hit Submit. If you do not know your HFC username and password, please visit our password help page

  2. Determine needed classes.
Use the Program Evaluation tool in WebAdvisor to determine needed classes. A program evaluation examines your selected program, and lists the courses you still need to complete. For help determining classes, meet with an academic adviser.

  3. Create a class schedule.
Use the Student Planning tool in WebAdvisor to generate a class schedule. Student Planning allows you to arrange class sections in a grid format so you can create a schedule that works best for you. Once you create your schedule in Student Planning, you may also register for classes using this tool. For help creating a class schedule, meet with an academic adviser.

  4. Register for classes.
Click Register for Sections to add classes. You can use the Search and register for sections or Express Registration tools in WebAdvisor to find classes. If you use the Express Registration tool, enter the subject (e.g. MATH), course number (e.g. 110), and section number (e.g. 01), and semester (e.g. 12/FA). Click Submit and follow the remaining prompts to finalize your registration. Some courses at HFC offer waitlisting if they are full. Students can add themselves to a class waitlist to be notified if a seat becomes available. For more information, review our waitlist FAQs.
