Culinary students making chocolates.

To celebrate the Winter 2025 semester reopening of HFC’s student-run restaurant Fifty-One O One, the restaurant staff is offering a complimentary box of chocolates for customers who purchase two desserts. This offer will run through February or while supplies last.

“Our talented students in our confectionery class made these delicious chocolates under the direction of our pastry chef, Keith Davis II. They really outdid themselves with these treats,” said HFC culinary arts instructor and Fifty-One O One maître d'hôtel Lauren Wallace.

An assortment of delectable treats

Forrest Gump, played by Oscar winner Tom Hanks, famously declared: “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.’”

Not true in this case, the Fifty-One O One box of chocolates contains the following flavors:

  • Dark chocolate caramel
  • Salted caramel
  • Pecan praline
  • Cherry kirsch (contains liqueur)

“It gives me great pleasure to see people enjoying the desserts that I make,” said Davis. “The best part of my job is being able to pass that knowledge on to the next generation of pastry chefs.”
