B oth Henry Ford College campuses will be closed starting Friday, December 22, 2023 and will reopen Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

All campus offices will be closed, and no classes or official business operations will take place during these dates.

We wish all faculty, staff, and students an enjoyable end-of-year break! Happy holidays to those who celebrate; and a restful and safe break period to all.

Info for students

The first day of classes for Winter semester will be Monday, January 8, 2024.

Class registration is OPEN during winter break!

If you need assistance with Winter enrollment or registration, we recommend you attend the online Cyber Services Saturday, January 6.

You may also leave an email message at enroll@hfcc.edu. Please do not leave urgent messages at this email address, as this address will not be monitored every day throughout the break.

Info for faculty and staff

Campuses will be closed, and buildings will be locked starting Dec. 22 through January 1. Please do not come to campus unless you absolutely need to do so -- we save on our utilities costs by keeping our buildings mostly unoccupied during this time. Any faculty or staff members who absolutely need to be in any building on campus during the break for any reason (except Facilities and Campus Safety staff), please observe the following:

  1. Notify Campus Safety in advance of what specific buildings you will enter on campus, and when. (Put the Campus Safety number in your phone: 313-845-9630)
  2. Please do not bring guests onto campus when the campuses are closed.
  3. Make sure all office and common areas remain secured, especially as you are leaving.
  4. Don't forget to lock your car while it is in any campus lot.
  5. Turn off any electrical appliances you have used.

Thank you, and Happy Winter Break! To those who celebrate, Happy Holidays!
