Men's season ends with hard-fought 73-70 loss to Mott

The Hawks played the Mott Bears in a third-round game in the national championship tournament, and came up just short, losing 73-70. It has been a great season for the Hawks, and we are very proud of these young men for their success on and off the court. Have a great summer!
Update, April 22:
After its upset victory against #3 South Suburban, the Hawks men's basketball team took on Iowa Lakes and lost 88-74. They play again in the double-elimination format Friday at 2:00 p.m. EST.
On the heels of winning the MCCAA Metro Conference and the NJCAA Great Lakes District C Championship, the 14th seeded HFC men’s basketball team defeated 3rd seed South Suburban College in South Holland, IL 67-58 in the opening round of the 2021 NJCAA Division II National Tournament at the Mary Miller Center in Danville, IL on April 20.
This was the first upset of the tournament. The Hawks (11-4) kept the Bulldogs (18-5) to just seven points in the game’s final 10 minutes and 17 seconds. The tournament format is double elimination: Each team plays a minimum of two games.
“We played hard. I'm proud of them,'' said HFC head coach Chris Shepard.
The Hawks advance to the quarterfinals on Thursday, April 22, at 7:00 p.m. EST, when HFC will play Iowa Lakes Community College.

Danville Area Community College (DACC) will live-stream the games via the NJCAA Network. Prices are as follows:
• $10: Individual day pass (2-4 games/session)
• $50: Tournament pass (good for all games)
• Free: Children ages 6 and under
There will be four games per each morning/afternoon session on Tuesday and Friday, three games per morning/afternoon sessions on Wednesday and Thursday with two games Saturday afternoon and two games each evening session.
