HFC Student Activities is hosting a 2021 voter registration drive.

This year’s drive will be held virtually through the following platforms:

The voter registration drive allows students to register online to vote and encourages them to exercise their right to vote on every election day.

You must be registered to vote in order to participate in the upcoming election on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Visit the Michigan Voter Information Center for online voter registration information.

Voter registration drive Sept. 28

Register to vote online on National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Once you have registered, let your friends and family on social media know that you are now registered and that you will vote on Nov. 2.

Student Activities is hosting a virtual photo booth to help you celebrate the fact that you are a registered voter! You will receive a digital copy of your photos to share. #HFCVotes

Election day is Nov. 2

If you are voting in-person on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 2, polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you are in line before 8:00 p.m., you will be allowed to vote. To find your polling place, visit the MVIC and select “Where’s my polling place for voting on election day?”.

How do I register to vote or update my information online?

If you have a valid Michigan driver's license or state ID, you can use the online form to register to vote online or update your voter registration address in the state of Michigan.

What’s the deadline to register to vote?

You can register at any time up to 8:00 p.m. on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 2, at your city or township clerk’s office. If you’re registering another way, your voter registration application must be received or postmarked at least 15 days before the election.

How do I register to vote?

To be eligible to vote, you must be:

  • A Michigan resident at the time you register, and a resident of your city or township for at least 30 days by election day
  • A United States citizen
  • At least 18 years of age (you can register to vote when you are 17½ years old, but you cannot vote until you are 18)
  • Not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison

You can register to vote by one of the following methods:

  • Online
  • At a Secretary of State branch office
  • At your city or township clerk’s office or your county clerk’s office
  • At any state agency that provides public assistance or services to people with disabilities
  • By mailing in a completed voter registration application postmarked 15 days before election day
  • Through a voter registration drive

Within 14 days before election day, all applications must be submitted to your local city or township clerk’s office in person.

How do I register to vote on election day?

You can register to vote and vote in person on election day at your city or township clerk’s office. You will need to bring your proof of eligibility and residency. To be eligible to register to vote, you must be:

  • A Michigan resident (at the time you register) and a resident of your city or township for at least 30 days (when you vote)
  • A United States citizen
  • At least 18 years of age on election day
  • Not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison

You must show proof of where you live. Official documents must have your name and current address. You can show a digital copy of documents in addition to hard copies. Acceptable documents include:

  • A valid Michigan driver’s license or state ID
  • Current utility bill
  • Bank statement
  • Paycheck or government check
  • Other official government document
