“How to navigate conversations with divergent views” panel discussion

One of several SAFE@HFC Campus Pride Events will be the panel discussion, “How to Successfully Navigate Conversations with Divergent Points of View,” is scheduled for Wednesday, April 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. Please register in advance.

This panel discussion will touch on viewpoints from the LGBTQ+ perspective. However, this discussion could have far-reaching effects for all marginalized and disenfranchised groups.

The panelists who will be speaking include:
Liam Holland Vella, an HFC alumnus and founder of Support the T, a project dedicated to helping transgendered people raise money toward their transition goals by creating and selling custom T-shirts.
Mark Saint Amour of the Milton E. Ford LGBT Resource Center at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Allendale.
Jonathan L. Miller, Dean of Students at Northern Essex Community College (NECC) in Essex County, MA.
Loyce Brown, Equity Officer and Title IX Coordinator at Delta College in University Center.

The Sexuality And Gender Acceptance Club (SAGA) is a student-led group whose mission is to support students in their lives as LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. Learn more about SAGA by contacting faculty advisor Troy Gibson at trgibson3@hfcc.edu.
