October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. HFC is hosting an interactive panel discussion about this sensitive topic on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. via Zoom.

Register here to attend on Zoom.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and to identify and utilize resources in the community regarding domestic violence. Special panel guests will include Dr. Brenda Hildreth from HFC Student Outreach and Support (SOS) and staff members from the ACCESS Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) program.

This event is co-sponsored by HFC Counseling, Student Activities, Campus Safety, and Student Conduct and Compliance and Title IX Office.

The event is open to all students, staff, faculty, and the public. Attendees are encouraged to wear something purple (i.e., hat, scarf, shirt) to symbolize domestic violence awareness and the unity required to make social change. Wearing purple clothing is voluntary, and should not impose a barrier to attending.
