HFC student athlete Leon Ayers – who will be playing basketball on a scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in the 2020-21 season – has been recently named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCCA) Men’s Basketball Division II Second Team All-American.

During the 2019-20 season, Ayers, a 6’5” sophomore guard and alumnus of Troy High School, averaged 21.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.1 for HFC (18-12). During the 2018-19 season, Ayers helped lead the Hawks to a 23-9 overall record and a Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) state championship. He will graduate from HFC this spring with his associate degree in general studies.

“Leon has been a great student-athlete at HFC for the past two years,” said HFC Athletic Director Rochelle Taylor. “We are happy he's been recognized for his hard work on the court. We know he will continue to excel at Wisconsin-Green Bay.”
