Anxiety and depression workshop: open to the public
HFC will host an anxiety and depression workshop on Tuesday, March 17, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Rosenau Rooms on the first floor of the ASCC (Bldg. L).
The purpose of this workshop is to learn how to cope with anxiety, diminish stress, understand the mechanisms of depression, and how to lessen its grip.
Zaynab Boussi, LMSW
The speaker will be Zaynab Boussi, a licensed clinical social worker. A Dearborn native and daughter of Lebanese immigrants, she has been providing mental health services since 2003. Her areas of expertise include children, adolescent, family, depression, anxiety, adjustment and acculturation issues. In 2018, Boussi was named to Hour Detroit’s list of 10 Metro Detroit Therapists.
Boussi has run a private practice called Clarity Therapy, LLC in Dearborn since 2016. She is also a school social worker for the Dearborn Public Schools and LEO intermittent lecturer at the University of Michigan School of Social Work in Ann Arbor.
Boussi's background and expertise
Boussi earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and an MSW from U-M, specializing in interpersonal practice, community mental health, and school social work. She is a licensed master of social work (LMSW) through the state of Michigan. She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Michigan Association of School Social Workers.
