Weekly yoga expands! Weds. and Thurs. afternoons

People in yoga poses

HFC offers free yoga to all employees and students every week. Classes meet in the yoga/dance studio in the Athletic Memorial Building (Bldg. H) on the main campus.

Session options:

  • Wednesday yoga with Cristina Bailey (director of academic services) from 12:30-1:30 p.m. (session is ongoing)
  • Thursday yoga with Pam Stewart (ELI instructor) and Cristina Bailey alternating weeks, from 3:30-4:40 p.m. (session begins Feb. 27)

Things to know:

  1. A liability waiver is required to participate. Please bring the signed waiver with you the first time you come to class.

  2. You may join the classes at any time. You may attend as many or as few sessions as you wish. We recommend you arrive on time to each session so you can participate fully, but late arrivers will be permitted to join the classes in session.

  3. Anyone is welcome, from beginners to advanced-level yoga practitioners.

  4. Dress appropriately for yoga. You should wear stretchy athletic clothing that allows you to move freely. We recommend you not wear excessive jewelry, or any clothing or jewelry that will restrict your movement or that could endanger your safety while moving from pose to pose. Bare feet or yoga socks (with sticky bottoms) are recommended.

  5. Bring your own yoga mat(s) and a water bottle.

  6. Locker rooms will not be available for changing clothes or showering. You may change in one of the restrooms in the H building, but we recommend you change before you come to the building.

  7. Do not bring valuables with you to the class, as there will be no place to lock them up.
