HFC logo, followed by Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 lists of instructions

This comes to you from the office of Becky Chadwick, Vice President for Strategy and Information:

The Higher Learning Commission, as part of our re-accreditation process, requires the College to submit evidence that indicate we have meet the established criteria. Where there is no strict definition on what constitutes evidence, examples from the most recent study are listed below.

What counts as evidence? Some examples:

Please note that this list is intended to be illustrative but not exhaustive.

  1. Minutes and agendas for all College meetings;
  2. Board reports;
  3. Reports submitted to State and Federal agencies;
  4. Continuous Process Improvement Team reports;
  5. Special reports on retention;
  6. Campus Safety Professional Development;
  7. Capital Outlay Plan;
  8. Job Descriptions;
  9. Program Reviews;
  10. Committee for the Assessment of Student Learning annual reports;
  11. Audits;
  12. Strategic Plans;
  13. Department and Division plans; and
  14. Documented policies and procedures

More than 1,100 documents were used during the last re-accreditation report (March 2015), and nearly twice as many were reviewed for potential use in the report.

To assist in the process for our upcoming re-accreditation, we ask that you forward any report and/or document that you believe may be useful as "evidence" that we meet the Commission's criteria for accreditation.

Please follow this link to review the current Criteria for Accreditation.

We will need to follow-up with individuals who chair committees to ensure that all agendas, minutes and special reports are submitted regularly and that the necessary documents are on file.

Please review the attached document for instructions on how to submit HLC evidence pertaining to accreditation.

If you have questions, please contact Becky Chadwick at ext. 1534 or via email at BChadwick@hfcc.edu.
