Note about registration:
• The 12:45-1:45PM LegaSea Aquarium Interactive Presentation requires a waiver, which is part of the registration.
• The 1:45-3:00PM section does not require registration, but recommends it: panel discussion of women from various STEM fields, recognition of a Women in STEM at Henry Ford College, and a raffle.

HFC will host Women in STEM Day on Friday, February 13, from 12:45 to 3:00 p.m. in the Community Rooms on the first floor of the Welcome Center (Building WC on the main campus).

Representatives from the LegaSea Aquarium & The Reptarium – an indoor, hands-on interactive aquarium and zoo in Utica – will give a 1-hour presentation (12:45 to 1:45 p.m.) with multiple animals, including snakes, lizards, turtles, a baby alligator, and more. The animals will always be in the possession of their handlers. These handlers will walk around with the animals, allowing people to hold them and interact with them, while giving out fun facts and answering questions. The LegaSea presentation will also include women scientists and educators who will share their experiences as women working in the zoology field.

Register for this event at the link above. If you wish to attend the LegaSea portion of the event, you will need to sign a waiver (also available at the registration link). People under age 18 will need to obtain a parent or guardian’s signature prior to the event. Waivers will also be available prior to the event in:

  • Room G-112 of the Health Sciences Education Center (Building G on the main campus)
  • Room J-115 of the Science Building (Building J on the main campus)
  • The Community Rooms of the Welcome Center

After the LegaSea presentation, from 1:45 to 3:00 p.m., there will also be:

  • A panel discussion of women in various STEM fields
  • Recognition of a woman in STEM at HFC
  • A free raffle
