TV’s “Jeopardy!” showcases HFC in $1,200 question

HFC’s location was a question on the February 9 episode of the long-running game show Jeopardy! in February 2026.

Under the category “8-Letter U.S. Cities” for $1,200, the clue was “This Michigan City is home to Henry Ford College.” The answer, Dearborn, was not on the radar of any of the three contestants.

HFC Dean of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Janice Gilliland was watching Jeopardy! and was pleasantly surprised to hear that the College was mentioned. Several other HFC employees notified us of this surprising moment as well. It's not often that you can stump all three Jeopardy contestants with an easy answer!

“Too bad the contestants didn’t know the correct answer,” said Gilliland, laughing. “However, it speaks volumes that our success as an educational institution extends far beyond the borders of Dearborn and Michigan.”
