HFC will host Globe Fest, its well-received annual event that celebrates the beauty of many cultures, on April 8.

The HFC Council of World Cultures (CWC) presents Globe Fest, HFC’s annual multicultural event, which will be Wednesday, April 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the John McDonald Student and Culinary Arts Center (Building M on the main campus).

Globe Fest is a celebration of world cultures, featuring delicious ethnic cuisines, a variety of great entertainment, and enriching literature showcasing selected countries. The event is designed to bring together the campus community and promote awareness and appreciation of diversity.

“Globe Fest is one of HFC's most enjoyable events. It brings together the campus community and reaffirms our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and respect. Globe Fest is a true reflection of our values as a welcoming college. It warms my heart to work with student groups to assist with their understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. Our student clubs reflect the diversity of our student body, and I am proud to say that they happily collaborate and learn from one another. Globe Fest defines who we are as an institution,” said HFC Director of Student Activities Dr. Cassandra Fluker.

This year, the selected countries are Ireland, Guatemala, South Korea, Mexico, and Lebanon. Guests will receive five FREE food tickets and will use one ticket per food station.

Globe Fest is sponsored by the CWC and coordinated by the following HFC divisions and HFC student clubs:

  • The Eshleman Library
  • New Student Orientation
  • The Hispanic and Latino Student Association
  • One Step Ahead
  • Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Alpha Xi Mu chapter

Come and celebrate multicultural food and experiences at HFC! Globe Fest is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the Office of Student Activities at (313) 845-9865.
