HFC and EMU perform “Together with You” holiday concert

The HFC Chorus rings in the holiday season with “Together with You,” its holiday choral concert on Wednesday, December 3, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Adray Auditorium on the first floor of the MacKenzie Fine Arts Center (Building F on the main campus).

The Eastern Michigan University Campus Choir, under the direction of Jillian Burgam, will perform alongside the HFC Chorus.

“I had a chance to see this choir last spring at EMU, and I've been so inspired by what Jillian has created there that I wanted to strengthen the bond that HFC has with one of our biggest transfer partners in this joint concert. I'm excited to feature our students together in this celebration of voices,” said Director of the HFC Chorus Amy Saari.

The theme of this concert is “Together with You,” a lyric taken from the famous holiday song “Sleigh Ride,” composed by Leroy Anderson and initially performed by the Boston Pops Orchestra in 1948. The most commercially successful rendition was by the Ronettes in 1963. Many other singers have also covered this song, including Johnny Mathis, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, and Kelly Clarkson.
