Nearly 200 pieces of original artwork created by HFC students

This exhibition includes nearly 200 physical pieces selected by HFC faculty members as the best work by their students during the 2024-25 academic year.

A group of students from the graphic design and digital media classes created short animation videos that run on a large screen when the exhibition is open.

Six students won awards for their superior artistry, said HFC Faculty Chair of Fine and Performing Arts and Sisson curator Steve Glazer.

For graphic design, the winners include:

  • First Place: Zoe Brace
  • Second Place: Amaja Bruner
  • Third Place: Al Attia

The juror for Graphic Design was HFC graphic designer and alumna Ashleigh Martin, who works in HFC Marketing and Communications.

For studio art, the winners include:

  • First Place: Kelly Sherle
  • Second Place: Rayan Assi
  • Third Place: Malak Cherri

The juror for Studio Art was internationally recognized artist Adnan Charara, who lives in Dearborn.

“The annual student exhibitions are always a ton of work but are very rewarding. It’s worth every minute. There was a great crowd with a lot of students and their families at the opening reception. The students who won awards were honored that their work was chosen,” said Glazer. “A huge thanks to the jurors and HFC graphic design instructor Vicki Shepherd, HFC ceramics technician Patty Goodell, and the Fine Arts faculty for their work in the classroom. Most important, a huge thanks to all of the students whose work is showcased in the exhibition.”
