Volunteers needed for Make a Difference Day
Register to volunteer by Thursday, October 23
Join HFC students, faculty, and staff for Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed at one of two places:
- Off-campus at Brilliant Detroit, 2706 Charlevoix St. in Detroit
- On-campus for Arts & Scraps, in the pavilion of the John McDonald Student and Culinary Arts Center (Building M on the main campus)
Brilliant Detroit
Prepare Brilliant Detroit’s McDougall Hub for the fall season. You can work outside preparing the grounds for winter, or you can work indoors decorating the hub space for the season, organizing new donations, and preparing supplies for upcoming events.
Arts & Scraps
Help Arts & Scraps repurpose various materials for creative community programming by packing art materials for kits.
“Volunteer to make a difference in your community!” said HFC Student Activities Associate Kayla Collins. “There are two opportunities available for your convenience, either prepping materials for Arts & Scraps on the HFC main campus, or helping Brilliant Detroit run a community fall festival.”
Make a Difference Day is celebrated every fourth Saturday in October
Created in 1992, this National Day of Service aims to inspire people from all walks of life to take action and make a positive difference in their communities. Millions of people across the nation unite to improve the lives of others.
Once you register at the link above, the Office of Student Activities will send the next steps, including instructions and a required waiver form.
