HFC and After the Storm will host Community Volunteer Day on Saturday, April 26, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Community Volunteer Day day will end between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. (depending on efficiency).

We need volunteers to assist with flood disaster recovery at local Detroit homes. You will be tasked with removing debris, primarily remediating basements or garage areas within a home that may have debris that prevents easy access.

About After the Storm

Headquartered in Midland, After the Storm is part of an expansive cleanup effort in Southeast Michigan after extensive flooding from storms in 2021 and later in 2023. Efforts have been focused on finding households that are hardest hit and those who need the hands-on, specialized approach of one-on-one case management. These are often households with senior citizens and small children, low-income families and neighborhoods, and other vulnerable populations.
