HFC Volunteer Day: literacy materials sorting at Brilliant Detroit
The HFC Office of Student Activities and the nonprofit Brilliant Detroit will host an HFC Volunteer Day on Saturday, March 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Brilliant Detroit headquarters, 5675 Larkins St. in Detroit.
Volunteers will spend the day in Brilliant Detroit’s Southwest Program Materials Organization, which is intended to provide Brilliant Detroit a better view of its current inventory of materials for its literacy programs. Volunteers will be responsible for sorting, organizing, and taking inventory of the bookshelves, organizing STEM course materials, and moving non-program books to the general book room.
About Brilliant Detroit
Founded in 2016, Brilliant Detroit focuses on early childhood success and offers programming for both children and caregivers to improve literacy, health, and family support in Detroit neighborhoods. The goal is to cultivate engaged families, supportive social networks, and help children reach key developmental milestones.
