Please volunteer for Discover Day here

This year’s Discover Day, our largest K-12 student recruiting event of the year, will take place on the HFC main campus on Friday, September 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

We need your help! Our visitors from area high schools are coming to HFC to learn what makes this College such an amazing place to start their college education. It’s quite an undertaking to help them navigate our main campus and participate in the various academic and co-curricular experiences. This is where our volunteers come in. Volunteers are essential to making Discover Day a success!

Welcome Center frontline staff welcome

Welcome Center team members: the Welcome Center will operate with limited staff on the morning of Discover Day to allow you, our valued teammates, the chance to volunteer at this event. Please make sure that you have your supervisor's permission prior to signing up to volunteer for Discover Day.

Timing: all morning or part of the morning

Volunteers are needed from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., but you can choose to do shorter period of time if that works best for you.

How you can help

You can request for whatever kind of work you prefer. We will try to accommodate all the requests we can. We appreciate your flexibility. The more flexible you are, the easier our planning will be!

We will feed you, too

Volunteers will get a Discover Day T-shirt. We will provide breakfast, and lunch will be available between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Thank you in advance for helping our Admissions and Recruiting team host and serve our guests from more than 30 high schools in Southeast Michigan!
