Summer N.E.T. for high school students enrolling at HFC
The Detroit Promise at HFC is hosting the second annual Summer Navigating Education Transitions (N.E.T.) on Friday, August 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC) (Building L on the main campus).
Summer N.E.T. is designed to connect high school students directly to HFC in an effort to better prepare you for your academic endeavors starting in the Fall 2024 semester. At Summer N.E.T., you will:
- Attend educational workshops on financial awareness, mindfulness, and campus success.
- Learn more about campus resources and support services.
- Build relationships with Academic Advisors and Detroit Promise Campus Success Coaches.
Free transportation
You will have access to free transportation to and from HFC at three locations:
- Western International High School, 1500 Scotten St. in Detroit
- UAW Local 7, 2600 Connor St. in Detroit
- University of Detroit Mercy Calihan Hall (on Fairfield Street at McNichols Road), 4100 W. McNichols Rd. in Detroit

Summer N.E.T. is sponsored by HFC, the Detroit Promise, the Hawk Advantage program, the Detroit Regional Chamber, Detroit Drives Degrees, and the Detroit College Access Network (DCAN).
This event is free. Continental breakfast and lunch will be served. Students who attend Summer N.E.T. and complete the survey at the end of the day will receive a $50 gift card.
