Volunteers needed for Make a Difference Day

Join HFC team members and students for Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 28.

Don’t miss out on your opportunity to make a difference in our local communities. There are two volunteer options:

  • Forgotten Harvest, 15000 W. 8 Mile Road (between Greenfield and Coolidge) in Oak Park: From 9:00 a.m. to noon, volunteers will pack emergency food boxes and sort fresh, nutritious meals into family-size portions. Volunteers are asked to wear a Halloween costume.
  • Eternal Light Co., 5752 N. Telegraph Road in Dearborn Heights: From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., volunteers will help with the food drive and prepare sandwiches.

Make a Difference Day is an annual event celebrated on the fourth Saturday in October. Created in 1992 by USA Weekend magazine, this national day of service has a goal to inspire people from all walks of life to take action and make a positive difference in their communities. Millions of people across the nation unite to improve the lives of others.
