HFC has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense through 2028.

HFC will be listed as a CAE-CD on the CAE Institution Map. This designation indicates that HFC is helping reduce the threats to national infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber-defense and also providing a pipeline of qualified cybersecurity professionals.

“The CAE-CD designation is awarded to regionally accredited academic institutions offering cybersecurity associate degrees or certificates,” said HFC cybersecurity instructor Marrci Conner. “This is our second time applying and receiving the CAE-CD 5-year cyber designation. Receiving this designation assists our students with articulating to other 4-year institutions, entry-level employment, internships, capture the flag competitions, and HFC bidding for NSA grants.”
