HFC implements NEOED, a new HR Information System (HRIS)

The HFC Human Resources Department announces the launch of NEOED, its new Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This dynamic, interactive system replaces the previous Cornerstone system. (Login to NEOED through the HFC portal, my.hfcc.edu. Look for the link in the top navigation.)

What is NEOED?

The NEOED HR suite will be used for all HR-related online functions. NEOED’s centralized platform allows the HR Department to automate recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and provide web-based training to support the entire employee lifecycle.

Additionally, the move to NEOED allows HFC to digitize employee records and eliminate antiquated paper processes. This will also make the HR Department more environmentally conscious.

Three modules: Recruit, Develop, and e-Forms

Through a phased-in process, HFC has contracted with NEOED for three modules:

  1. Recruit
  2. Develop
  3. e-Forms

HFC will begin the transition from Cornerstone to NEOED with the Recruit module. This module will accelerate hiring, streamline search committee processes, and advance our commitment to ensuring diverse, qualified candidates who can be productive from the beginning of their time with us.

HFC will follow with the Develop module, which will be used for performance, professional development, training, and compliance. The e-Forms module will allow HFC to centralize and organize employee data and maintain a secure document repository.

Why NEOED?

The HR team conducted a thorough comparison of several HRIS systems frequently used in the higher education sector. NEOED is a trusted partner with hundreds of educational institutions and government agencies, including universities, community colleges, and K-12 school districts. NEOED offers a relatively seamless integration with our Ellucian/Colleague (HANK). The system also offers the following features:

  • Mobile friendly
  • User-friendly interface
  • Interactive applicant tracking system
  • Detailed, easy-to-read dashboards
  • Automated notifications to remind you when a task is complete, or an action is needed
  • Easy access to employee/HR information, forms, and helpful tools

What else do I need to know or do?

The HFC Department asks for your patience during this period of implementation. Please keep in mind that glitches can occur with system integrations, and the HR Department is working diligently to ensure the best possible transition to NEOED.

Throughout each phase of the launch and subsequent implementation, the HR Department will send updates on its progress and provide training for you as a user. Keep an eye out for these messages.

HR discontinued assigning Skillsoft training in Cornerstone, effective Dec. 31, 2021. Cornerstone will be inaccessible for all functions as of Jan. 28, 2022. If you have information that you would like to download, please do it before Friday.

The HR Department has already moved all employee transcript reports and performance evaluations into NEOED. However, we recognize that managers and employees may want to download backup copies for their personal records.
