HFC Engineering Club Competition open to the public April 23

The HFC Engineering Club Competition's Futuristic Home Competition will give students the opportunity to design and program a futuristic home.

The 5th annual HFC Engineering Club Competition will be held Saturday, April 23, from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the pavilion of the Student and Culinary Arts Center (Bldg. M) on the main campus.

Approximately 150 students in the ENGR 130: Introduction to Engineering class will compete in 41 teams to propose an innovative solution to a real-world problem. Additionally, 10 students in three teams will compete in the Engineering Club’s Futuristic Home Competition. In this competition, students will design, 3-D print, equip, wire, and program a futuristic home.

“We invite our entire campus community to come and see these innovative student projects,” said HFC Pre-Engineering Program Director Dr. Hassan Mohseni Nameghi.

This event is free and open to the public. HFC COVID-19 safety protocols are required for everyone attending or participating in this event. Face masks will be optional at this event. Campus protocol is that face masks are currently required only in classrooms. You are welcome to wear a face covering if you choose.
