UPDATE July 26: Today, the sidewalk crew have moved to Zone 11, where they will begin prep work. Zone 11 is close to the Grant MacKenzie Fine Arts Center (Bldg. F). Effective Tuesday, July 27, the sidewalk crew will pour concrete for Zone 6 [the south entrance (M6) of the Student & Culinary Arts Center (Bldg. M)] and Zone 7 [between the Science Building (Bldg. J) and Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC) (Bldg. L)]. On Thursday, July 29, they will pour concrete for Zone 9 [located between the Health Careers Education Center (Bldg. G) and the Athletic Memorial Building (Bldg. H)], weather permitting. The sidewalk crew will pour concrete in Zone 11 either on Friday, July 30, or Monday, Aug. 2, weather permitting. Please read this special map for more details.

UPDATE July 21: The sidewalk crew, after finishing the prep work at M6, which is the south entrance of the Student & Culinary Arts Center (Bldg. The work will primarily involve removing the old sidewalks and prepping the new sidewalks. Pedestrians are advised to avoid the cordoned-off sidewalks and entrances to building G, H, and J (the Science Building), if impeded by the construction and use alternate entrances if and when available.

UPDATE July 15: The south entrance (M6) of the Student & Culinary Arts Center (Bldg. M) will be closed on Friday, July 16, effective 5:30 a.m., so existing pavement will be removed.

Previous phases of sidewalk replacement

Zone 5, the area near the north side of the M building and including the visitor lot adjacent to the M and N buildings is currently closed. M building entrances M1 and M2 will be closed through July 16. Visitors are asked to access the M building via entrance M6 on the south side of the building, across from building L.

The area near the north side of the Student & Culinary Arts Center (Building M) and the visitor lot adjacent to Buildings M and N is still closed for repairs. They will pour concrete in front of the Building M entrances on Saturday, July 10, so we request that you avoid that entrance. We advise you to access Building M via entrance M6 on the south side of the building, which is across from the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC) (Building L).

Effective July 9, Brencal is working in Zone 14, between the F and E buildings on the special campus map to start removing the old sidewalks there.

Phase 1, zones 1-4 are completed. This is the corridor between the Eshleman Library (Building B), The College Store (Building C), and Facilities Services (Building D). plus the area around Building B and east between Building B and the Reuther Liberal Arts Building (Building K).

“This will enhance both safety and aesthetics on our campus,” said HFC Director of Facilities Reuben Brukley. “We will provide updates on the next areas of work at least one week in advance as this project proceeds.”

Please avoid the areas in which sidewalk replacement is taking place.

Facilities Services apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks everyone for their cooperation.
