The [Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History] in Detroit presents “Gerrymandering and Post Reconstruction – The Civil Rights Era: A Focused Event on the Voting Matters Exhibit,” which will be held virtually on Thursday, May 13, at noon.

Voting Matters is an interactive multimedia exhibition that illustrates the work of African Americans from pre-Reconstruction through the present day, in the development of the basic principles and values surrounding our current understanding of what it means to have the “right to vote” in democratic societies around the world.

This event is sponsored by ReBUILDetroit, which is part of a consortium comprising the University of Detroit Mercy and Wayne State University with HFC serving as its pipeline partner. Two Learning Committees have joined resources to provide this event to all three educational institutions.
