HFC softball team plays for a chance to reach the national tournament

May 14: The HFC softball team won the district semifinal against Alpena Community College and will play for a chance to advance to the national NJCAA Softball Championship in Oxford, AL.

The district finals will be played Monday, May 17 at 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00 pm at Heritage Park vs Oakland CC. The public is invited.


May 11: The HFC softball team clinched the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Conference Title on May 11, taking first place.

The Hawks, under the command of Coach Steve Brown since 2018, are going into the postseason as the No. 1 seed. They will host the district semi-final games against Alpena Community College on Friday, May 14, at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.

The winner advances to the district finals on Monday, May 17.

“Coach Brown and his staff have done a tremendous building a competitive program,” said HFC Athletic Director Rochelle Taylor. This team is truly special and has been fun to watch all season.”
