HFC Climate Survey opens January 18

HFC logo on blue field

Dear Colleagues and Students,

As I described at our January 6 State of the College meeting, Henry Ford College will begin a College-wide diversity climate study on January 18.

We have contracted with an outside vendor, Viewfinder Campus Climate Surveys, LLC to administer the surveys.

You can watch what I said about the need for this Climate Survey here.

This will be a first step in assessing the climate on our campuses, which is critical to ensuring our College’s future success and the success of all our students and employees.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion have become an important focus for our College. Understanding our climate is key to learning where we should focus our efforts to strengthen our policies and initiatives and improve our climate. We seek to provide an equitable and inclusive environment where all employees, students, and community members can be fully engaged, feel safe and respected, and be able to thrive.

The survey results will be used to identify strengths and opportunities related to diversity, equity, and inclusion for students, faculty, staff, and administrators. I strongly encourage each of you to complete the survey, which will be online from January 18 to February 12.

We have selected Viewfinder Campus Climate Surveys, LLC to ensure that your responses remain anonymous. No personal identifying information will be collected from you or anyone who takes the survey. You will receive an email message directly from Viewfinder Campus Climate Surveys, LCC inviting you to participate in the survey.

Every voice at Henry Ford College matters, and we want to hear yours! Look for a message from Viewfinder Campus Climate Surveys, and please respond to the survey between January 18 and February 12.

If you have any questions, please contact me or Vice President Reginald Best.

Thank you.
