Eight HFC students to participate in U-M Research Symposium
Eight HFC students will participate in a research fellowship at the University of Michigan Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) Summer Research Symposium, which will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. The Symposium is a virtual event, which will be live-streamed via Zoom.
The HFC students include:
- Noora Aabed
- Nusrat Atika
- Sami Bazzi
- Monique Cruz
- Ali Farhoud
- Zainab Mroue
- Paige Nalli
- Kalani Olatunji
The Symposium is the culminating event for all students participating in UROP. It celebrates the partnerships created between students and U-M faculty research mentors, as well as serves as a conference where students present their research projects and learn more about the research their fellow UROP students have worked on throughout the program.
This year’s Symposium will showcase presentations from five research fellowships:
- Biomedical and Life Sciences Summer Fellowship
- Community College Summer Fellowship Program
- Engineering Summer Research Fellowship
- Intel Semiconductor Research Corporation Summer Fellowship
- Women and Gender Summer Fellowship Program
The Community College Summer Research Program is a division of UROP. The CCSFP is for community college students who are interested in transferring to U-M or any other university. For 10 weeks, students work full-time on the U-M campus in Ann Arbor with faculty researchers representing all 19 schools and colleges at U-M.
