ATA unveils Mobile Technology Learning Lab June 30
The Advanced Technology Academy will unveil and dedicate its Mobile Technology Learning Lab on Wednesday, June 30, at 11:00 a.m. This ceremony will take place in person at the ATA, 4801 Oakman Blvd. in Dearborn.
The MTLL is fully funded through the 2019-20 Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Grant. Its purpose is to engage students in their community to improve participation, attendance, and successful completion of their classes at the ATA. It is equipped with the latest teaching technologies and tools, as well as built-in flexibility to allow teachers to provide satellite classroom instruction. Additionally, the MTLL will be outfitted with equipment for setting up a classroom outdoors, to comply with COVID-19 guidelines.
The MTLL will bring the classroom into the community where the students live. A team of ATA school personnel (certified teachers, bilingual translator, social worker, administrator) will travel with the MTLL into the community to engage students. This will give ATA school personnel the opportunity to address the loss of learning in the last year due to the pandemic through supplemental content and intervention services to mitigate COVID-19’s impact.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP at (313) 625-4675. For questions or more information, contact ATA Director of Institutional Advancement Steve Quinlan at squinlan@my.atafordpas.org.
