Textbook ordering: important dates for students

With the Fall 2020 Semester coming to a close and the Winter 2021 Semester beginning in January, The College Store (Building C on the main campus) continues to serve HFC students, making the process of purchasing textbooks and other course materials as efficient as possible in the midst of the pandemic.

Only accepting online orders

The College Store is only accepting orders online, which can be purchased via major credit cards (Visa, Discover, MasterCard).

Learn how to order textbooks online. We recommend you use the Chrome internet browser. And we recommend you purchase your books as soon as possible, so you will get them on time.

Important dates

Please make note of the following important dates:
• December 2020: Free UPS ground shipping available for all online orders.
• Dec. 1-22, 2020 and Jan. 4-6, 2021: Online orders can be picked up in the lobby of the College Store.
• Monday, Dec. 21, 2020: Last day that fall rentals can be returned. The deadline could not be extended due to the holidays. There is a drop box by the Building A entrance (near the flagpole and circle drive) for rental returns. Only College Store rentals should be placed in the drop box. Henry Ford Early College and library books need to be returned to their respective locations.
• Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020: Effective this date, all online orders will be shipped via UPS.
• Friday, Jan. 1, 2021: Effective this date, online orders will be charged a flat shipping rate of $7.99/order.

Student responsibilities

To ensure the ordering process runs smoothly, it is your responsibility to make sure you have sufficient funds in your financial aid account prior to placing an order. You can see the amount of financial aid that can be used in the purchase of textbooks in the HFC portal.

If you do not have sufficient funding, your order will be canceled.

Please consolidate your orders as much as possible instead of ordering multiple times. Order as early as possible. And make sure we have your accurate billing/shipping addresses and email addresses.

Book buyback alternative

The College Store is not offering book buyback on its premises for the foreseeable future. However, you can sell your books back directly to the Nebraska Book Company. There are other options online available to sell your textbooks on your own.
