Seven HFC scholars selected to statewide UROP Virtual Symposium

A total of 45 students from 15 Michigan community colleges (7 from HFC) will present at the University of Michigan UROP Summer Virtual Symposium July 27-30.

Seven HFC students were selected to participate in a research fellowship at the University of Michigan Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) Summer Virtual Symposium, which will be held Monday, July 27, through Thursday, July 30, from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. (all community college student presentations will be from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. over the four days). If you are interested in hearing the presentations, register via Zoom.

A division of UROP is the Community College Summer Research Program (CCSFP). The CCSFP is for community college students who are interested in transferring to U-M. For 10 weeks, students work full-time on the U-M campus in Ann Arbor with university advisors. Research projects are pre-selected by staff.

This summer, students from 15 community colleges in the state of Michigan (45 students total) will present. The seven students from HFC include:

  • Rafael Cortes
  • Emmanuel Orozco Castellanos
  • Olivia Grantham
  • Jessica Schrader
