This year marks 31 years HFC FT Local 1650 Gift of Reading Committee has shared the Gift of Reading for the holiday season. Given the current pandemic, it’s impossible to donate physical books this year to the reading drive.

Instead, theGift of Reading Committee is inviting you to share what you would have spent on books as a monetary donation to Focus: HOPE, the organization the College has supported for more than three decades. The Gift of Reading Committee will work with its Focus: HOPE’s Center for Children to ensure your donations do the most good for these children and their families.

A Square account has been set up to make a secure online donation to FOCUS: Hope by Friday, Dec. 18.

Local 1650’s Gift of Reading campaign has provided new books to thousands of Michigan children since 1989. In 2019, the HFC community and Local 1650 donated $500 and more than 200 books to Focus: HOPE. Local 1650 hopes you’re able to make a financial contribution this holiday season, and hang on to those books for the 2021 campaign. Thank you for your consideration.
