Volunteers needed: Help students navigate campus for Winter 2020

"May I Help You?" graphic

The HFC Employee Recognition and Engagement Committee (EREC) is seeking volunteers for the "May I Help You?" campaign to assist new students navigating the HFC campus. By providing a friendly face and kind guidance, you will make a difference for HFC students.

May I Help You? volunteers are needed during the opening days of the Winter 2020 Semester on the following dates:
Monday, Jan. 13
Tuesday, Jan 14

With your help, we would like to assist students by providing individualized directions and answer their questions during the first few busy days of classes. For your volunteering efforts, you will be provided with an HFC “May I Help You?” button. Limited “May I Help You” T-shirts are also available.

Please follow the directions below to volunteer:

  1. Log into the Winter 2020 Sign-Up Spreadsheet with your HFC username and password.

  2. Review the location descriptions on the spreadsheet, indicating where volunteers are needed, and at what times.

  3. Type your name and email address into the cell(s) for the location(s) and time slot(s) of your choice. Your information will be automatically saved after it is entered.

  4. Wait for further directions via email on or before Friday, January 10.

  5. Pick up your button and map handouts (and T-shirt if you wish) at the Career Services Office in Room A-115 of the Learning Success Center (Bldg. A).

Supervisors: Please encourage your staff to sign up for this important effort. Just one hour could make a difference in the day of many students. If you have questions, please contact Chad Austin at ctaustin@hfcc.edu or 313-845-9860. Thank you to everyone in advance for considering helping out on these days.
