HFC Career Services will hold its 8th Annual Career Expo today, 1:30-4:00 p.m. in the Athletic Memorial Building (H). Parking and event are free.

HFC Career Services will host its 8th Annual HFC Career Expo on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 1:30 to 4:00p.m. in the gymnasium of the Athletic Memorial Building (Bldg. H) on the main campus. This event is free and open to everyone: current students, alumni, and the general public. Professional attire is highly recommended.

More than 100 employers will be in attendance, seeking workers. Employers may use the same link to register for a table at the Career Expo. Job seekers do not need to register in advance. Please read the tips below on how to prepare.

Research employers in attendance

See the link above for a list of employers attending the Career Expo. You can sort the list by industry, position type, or area of study.

Glassdoor is an excellent website to find out what current and former employees think of their employer(s). You can get specific feedback on salary, interviewing, and what it is like to work at a particular company. Glassdoor has recently expanded to offer job posting and company profiles. Normally you must set up an account, but HFC students and alumni can now receive free unlimited access using the link above.

Get professional attire without spending a lot of money

Stand out in a good way and make a great first impression! If you need professional attire for the Career Expo or an upcoming interview, check out the selection in the Career Services Office, located in Rm. A-115 of the Learning Success Center (Bldg. A). We have ties, blouses, shoes, and numerous men's and women’s gently used suits to share. If it fits, it’s yours to keep.

Get Résumé Feedback

Submit your résumé online to the HFC Jobs Leads website. After you submit your resume, you will receive feedback in 1-3 days.

The Day of the HFC Career Expo

On the day of the Career Expo, enter HFC from the south entrance off Evergreen Road. Park in Student Lots 7-10 (no parking pass is needed). Visit the LinkedIn booth during the Career Expo and get a free professional photo taken that you may use for your professional networking sites. The photo will be emailed to you.
