Friends of the Rouge logo

This year's Rouge Rescue at Henry Ford College event will be Saturday, May 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers should meet at around 8:45 a.m. at the Kingfisher Bluff on the west side of HFC's main campus.

Each spring volunteers from across the region work together to improve the Rouge River in Southeast Michigan. Your help is needed to clean trash from the Rouge River, remove invasive plants that threaten biodiversity, and perform other activities to improve the Rouge's water quality. Gather your friends and neighbors and join us for this fun and rewarding event!

Friends of the Rouge (FOTR) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1986 to raise awareness about the need to clean up the Rouge River. Its mission is to restore, protect, and enhance the Rouge River through stewardship, education, and collaboration.

Wear sturdy outdoor shoes and long pants; long sleeves recommended. Bring work gloves. Participation in this event counts toward community service requirements for HFC employees.
