Required Campus Safety Authority (CSA) information

Campus Safety vehicle

To comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act [20 USC ยง 1092(f)], HFC must provide notification of Campus Safety Authority (CSA) policies and procedures to individuals who are considered qualified CSAs.

Am I a CSA?

A CSA is any campus official who has significant responsibility to monitor student events, escort students, monitor student access and officials (not support staff) whose function involves relationships with students. Basically, if your job includes working with students, you are a CSA. If you are not sure whether you are a CSA, we recommend you follow the link below and watch the 14-minute training video.

CSA training video

Please visit our CSA training page for information regarding the role of a CSA at HFC and review associated policies and procedures for reporting crimes on campus. You can access this training page on the employee portal. The 14-minute video is at the bottom of the page.

Reporting crimes under the Clery Act

CSAs are required to report crimes under the Clery Act. To report any of the crimes reportable under the Clery Act that are described on the training video or if you have any questions about your status as a CSA, contact Campus Safety at 313-845-9630. To report any sexual harassment incidents, please contact the Student Title IX coordinator at 313-845-6315 or Employee Title IX coordinator at 313-845-9664.
