HFC Students, Faculty and Staff are invited to attend the first state-wide Michigan Community College Gender and Sexuality Conference hosted by Out-Space, Washtenaw Community College's LGBTQ student organization.

Washtenaw Community College, Ann Arbor, MI

Friday, October 18, 2019, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. to Saturday, October 19, 2019, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Attendees will learn about diversity, inclusion, identity, allyship, and the history of the LGBTQ movement. You will also have the opportunity to build a community of support by networking with LGBTQ folks/allies from across the state and how to better serve and support LGBTQ students.

Registration fee: Students $25 • Staff and Faculty $65

Registration fee includes:

  • Both conference dates, October 18 and October 19

  • 3 meals

  • Conference swag

Students, faculty, and staff are also invited to present at this conference for the following needs:

Rainbow Talk

Students can deliver a 10-minute Rainbow Talk on a subject they are passionate about that relate to the LGBTQ community. Public speaking at a professional conference is a great resume builder, especially if you are moving on to a university. Talk preparation assistance is available. Contact: mccgsc@wccnet.edu.

Break-out session leader

Conference organizers are seeking faculty and staff to lead 30-minute breakout sessions that may include a talk, discussion, panel, or activity. Topics should be LGBTQ related and connected to our theme. Email us at mccgsc@wccnet.edu
