16 HFC employees and students volunteered at Focus: HOPE

Group photo of volunteers at Focus: Hope

More than 15 HFC staff and students participated at Focus: HOPE on HFC Volunteer Day Feb. 16. These volunteers, many of whom wore their HFC 80th anniversary T-shirts to show their community spirit, helped sort food at Focus: HOPE's central warehouse in Detroit. This food will be delivered to more than 41,000 low income senior citizens who receive food packages from Focus: HOPE.

"This year's volunteer effort was a big success," said HFC Student Activities Associate Mandy Earl. "I'm proud of the work we accomplished that day."

Reminder: If you plan to participate in a volunteer project on behalf of HFC or if you have already volunteered this past year, feel free to pick up an 80th anniversary T-shirt from the Office of Student Activities (OSA) in Room M-105 of the Student & Culinary Arts Center (Building M). If possible, wear your T-shirt while volunteering. Take photos and send them to Stacy Bazman at slbazman@hfcc.edu and to communications@hfcc.edu.

One T-shirt per person, while supplies last.

For questions or further information, contact the OSA at 313-845-9865 or Earl, mlearl1@hfcc.edu.
