President Kavalhuna meets his U-M Dearborn counterpart, Chancellor Domenico Grasso

President Kavalhuna (left) met his counterpart, Chancellor Domenico Grasso at neighboring U-M Dearborn in November 2018. The two schools have a great partnership to help students succeed!

Some of the ongoing activities include:

  • Transfer agreements, formal articulations and informal transfer opportunities in more than 50 academic programs across liberal arts, education, business, STEM, health sciences, and trades.
  • Community service activities such as the annual MLK Day of Service
  • Campus Safety and Marketing and Communications collaborations on alerts and notifications to our respective communities
  • Library reciprocal borrowing privileges for HFC and UM-D students
  • Collaborative academic workshops / seminars for HFC and UM-D faculty
  • Available housing for HFC students in The Union at Dearborn, across from UM-D campus
  • Reverse transfer agreement to allow qualified UM-D students to complete an HFC associate degree
  • Student athlete transfers to UM-D sports teams
  • Both schools are deeply connected in the local community and welcome all residents and students on our campuses. Both have a large population of Dearborn-area students who pay in-district tuition at HFC and in-state tuition at UM-D.
